I was hanging with the boys watching something on TV. It was probably a comic book before it was a show, every half decent program out there on TV/cable/Netflix was started by Marvel or DC They got to be running out of comic book concepts to steal from soon right? Someone's going to have to get creative out in Hollywood. We need Norman Lear and Gary Marshall to jump back in the game. I think one might have passed away
So Dignan asks "What are you getting Mom for mother's day"?
I said. "Me? Nothing."
Liam: "why not?"
Me: "well, she is not MY mother."
Dignan: "I don't know. We hear you getting yelled at; you get in trouble more than we do!
Me: "well yes but sometimes she needs to inspire me. I tend to like sitting, but that’s about all she does."
Dignan: "are you allowed to wear a baseball hat to the dinner table?"
Me: "well no but...”
Liam: and vegetables, don't you always have to have vegetables?"
Me: "Oh sure but I like.."
Dignan: "and can you bring a cell phone to the table or answer it, even if it is work?"
Me: "No, I am not, but boys I do that on my own, I want to set a good example."
Liam looked at Dignan, and that's when they lost it. They were laughing uncontrollably, the second they would start dying down to a giggle one would say "setting a good example, " and they would be back laughing till their sides hurt.

I can only take so much of that, so I walked up to the living room to figure out good gift ideas for my mother and Pam. I had to show those boys I can pull out the big ideas when needed. I vowed not to get anything like the last three years, I thought they were good, considerate gifts but she didn't seem to appreciate them.
2014- new vacuum (that old one looked heavy)
2015 - make your own Twinkie kit (imagine the money you can save and who doesn't love Twinkies)
2016- two exercise tapes- Jane Fonda and Sweatin' to the Oldies (those Twinkies can start piling up)I was shocked to hear that we have not had a VCR in like 20 years, how did I not know that? I have a whole box of videos (live aid, our wedding, first blood) under the CD and cassettes in the basement. I was going to pass those babies to the boys. Kansas leftoverture? Jethro Tull Aqualung?)
Ah hell, I don't know. Maybe I can post some ideas, and you can let me know what you think. IM me, so Pam doesn't see this, and then I will have to hear the post on our next road trip. It's her new past time, we get on the hwy, and she reads Facebook to me. You know all the in-law, former co-worker and extended family posts that you good over? Yep, they get read out loud like they are the evening news. Every once in a while she has an audible gasp that scares the hell out of the car, makes me think I got a unicorn crossing the road. Nope, Aunt Carla got new tennis balls for her walker.
Wait, books on tape, let me look and see if they are still doing that, I think her car has a cassette player? That will show those boys.
