...if you are going to lose a body part in an industrial accident, do it in Nevada!
Here is a graph from the journalistic site ProPublica. They were doing a piece on rising workman's comp costs despite lowering rate of accident. They did a survey of the rate of return per missing body part, Nevada and the Federal Government are far and away the best paydays in the system.
It was disturbing to see the incredibly lower return on a lost testicle. Of the 10 reporting WC agencies, the highest was the Fed at $98k and the lowest was Minnesota at $3k. I am not sure how I would react to a $3k check for being lopsided.
